Faire - Weekend Five - Celtic Weekend

This is from the 2009 Faire,
I have yet to see this season's "health to the company" posted.

Celtic Weekend was filled with fun, revelry and a bit of drama. But what do you expect from a Faire full of die-hard Rennies? Hehe

When I mention drama, the little things come up first, like a child running out onto the field with it's mother close behind; due to the fact that one of the heralds wasn't paying attention. Or when Luke the white stallion finally decided he had had enough and figured out how to get out of his stall and went with the other horses to munch on the grass as they were being walked.

Then of course there was the one archery show that i wanted to beat the living crap out of one of the guys on the crew, merely because he was too busy paying attention to other things than doing his job. But that's water under the bridge now.

Rain, a Peregrine Falcon with Flight of The Raptor

As for some shows, Baz from Flight of the Raptor decided to fly off again Saturday afternoon, and didn't return until Sunday evening during final Pub Sing as Master R flew Chula, his Saker Falcon. It was a very happy evening for everyone that does that show, as well as for Master R.

It was a bittersweet moment as it came to that time where the whole cast made it to the Pub Stage and started singing the final song.  Tears were shed all around, me included.  So hard to not keep it together.  I thought that it would be no different as a participant than as a playtron, but it certainly is.  You make new friends, meet up with old ones.  There is a sad truth to the song, seeing as how two people from the previous faire passed away before this season started.

As soon as most of the patrons had left we all meandered back to encampment and hung out. Joking around back and forth, playing with the sleepy puppy and waiting for our boss to get back from the back gate for a final speech.  My friend J decided it would be a good time to sit and take a nap on one of the chairs in camp.  And of course a few of us had to take some photos cuz that's what we do apparently.

I wandered over to say goodbye and visit with some of the the pirates since I made friends with a few of them during the three months i was with the psycho.  G was helping to burn off all of the firewood that they had in their encampment and he built a roaring fire to start burning it all away.

It was a very pretty fire and quite warm as the temperature started to drop as the evening wore on.  Soon i went back to camp and Nothing convinced me to go to Halftime Sports Bar just over the wall.  I didn't have any clothes with me other than the garb that i was wearing so she let me borrow some of her clothes and off we went.

I had a blast. Hanging out with friends, having the PERFECT mudslide made by a very busy, flustered and gorgeous bartender.  Went back to camp to get ready to head home annnnddd felt the alcohol hit... so i decided to stay at camp and wait out the effects while i sipped a bit of water.

Didn't get home until midnight or so but it was so worth going out and spending more time with friends.

Until Next Season!!

Merry Meet,
Merry Part,
And Merry Meet Again!
